An easy accessible one hour drive from Ida Downs and you are surrounded by mountains, rivers & lakes, all with amazing scenery. Look for high country bird life, native plants and great photographic opportunities.
Based from Ida Downs, Mike and Karen can offer self-drive or guide 4WD tours through the mountains and river valleys surrounding Lake Coleridge and Rakaia River.
Mike and Karen have hosted the well-known Station to Station and High Country Journeys self drive four wheel drive trips for over 20 years.
Situated just off the inland scenic route highway 73 on Downs Road Glenroy; Ida Downs is perfect for a weekend retreat, a taste of rural New Zealand or a luxury stop over on return to Christchurch.
